Friday Finish

Started this quilt many moons ago, even before I discovered Bonnie Hunter's site. I just loved the look of the shirts and these weren't fabrics that you could purchase at the time. Well, I"m sure you could - I just didn't have the funds or patience to purchase 1/4 yards of this and that. Most of these shirts came from our local Mennonite Thrift shop - purchased on their sale rack for 50 cents each ~ can't beat that!!!

I had sewn the binding on last year and when trimming it, I cut the freaking corners on two sides. What a twit.....I cursed @*&%!$ and the quilt was put away. On Wednesday, I was attic cleaning and I dragged it down and dug out the binding I knew I had. Cut, sew....moan & groan, outside I go to hand sew the back of the binding on. DONE

I'm still quilting it by hand, but it's about 3/4 of the way done and I'm just poking around with it when I'm in the mood to work on it. But, I'm glad I forced myself to correct my opps.

Hmmmm, have no idea where the specks are from on this picture - fast flying buys maybe?

I have been trying a little different hand quilting on each large block. Oak leaves on this one ~ rather nice job which is rare for me LOL!!!

Lazy Days of Spring

The weather has been crazy warm here ~ spring cleaning ~ laundry out on the line ~ and surveying the damage in the garden ! DOH - I used old reclaimed bricks around the border of the garden, not realizing the rain/snow would damage them. Lesson learnt ~ now the cleaning up begins.
