On The Floor Friday

Finish up Friday, On the Wall, DONE....are a few of the many blog titles you encounter as you cruise thru the land of quilt blogs. Me....it's "on the floor friday!!' I have nothing completed, nothing on my wall besides pictures and nothing will be DONE today. LOL Well, I am on the floor - hence the title!

First up - When I started the Ocra Bay Quilt on the Bonnie Hunter site, I thought it would be a good time to fit in the Plaid Obession by Evelyn Sloppy from her book titled 'Strips & Strings'. They both have string-pieced blocks in different sizes and colours and I knew I could manage them both at the same time.

Then - Scarlet Rose came to visit and these got pushed aside for the making of doll clothes.

 Today, I"m sitting on the floor trying to sort out the mess of blocks and recount every piece....every single piece....UGH!!! Thank god I did package up & label most of them, but still.....1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and so on!!

Hopefully come Monday, I'll be back sewing the Orca Bay blocks.

The pictures from Wordless Wednesday were taken on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls - a weekend day trip we took to see the festive lights. Cold, but very beautiful. Horseshoe Falls is on the right side and the land showing is the US side - I believe the casino!!

A little on-line shopping

I have the 4 1/2 " Easy Angle by Sharon Hultgren and have used it for several of the Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilts. ( just don' t ask to see the them...lol) I need the larger size for the Lady of the Lake quilt and today I finally ordered the 6 1/2" easy angle! Then - the 10 1/2" companion angle! Done ~ happy ~ they are both winging their way from the US to Canada....hopefully by late next week they will be here!!

I've made one full block for a test run and have started to sort/collect all the other blues & neutrals needed. Will wait until the larger easy angle arrives before I start to cut any of the 6 1/2" triangles.

Playing around with Blogger.....

Trying....trying....to place pictures in the right area. Trying.....trying.....to resize them. Trying.....trying....to figure out HOW to change stuff. Not enough time in the day for me to fiddle around!

My crafting helper......

Scarlet-Rose is visiting!  My niece is expecting TONS of new outfits for Scarlet -Rose and her twin sister Scarlet! Well, if Scarlet-Rose would/could sew/stitch faster, all would be well!

I did a quick trip to the local fabric store and purchased a new pattern to replace the one(s) that are MIA in my lovely craft room :(

Hopefully tonight - magic will happen! One PJ set is cut and ready to sew......sew-it-begins!!!! Later
